About Us

In 1942, Camp Oty’Okwa was founded to serve children in Central Ohio.  Throughout our history, we have had the same philosophy to work with children, fostering an environment of positive role-modeling through small groups to help children gain confidence and self-esteem.  Our hope is that these qualities will continue to produce results that last a lifetime.  Our summer camp serves hundreds of children each summer. In 2016, 8,059 youth and adults visited camp. Camp Oty’Okwa is privately owned by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio.  The camp is centrally located in the Hocking Hills region in the midst of local state parks and preserves.  Our 700+ acres feature varied native vegetation and cliffs, deep gorges, rock shelters, and waterfalls formed by Blackhand Sandstone.  This unique landscape allows for both adventure and outdoor classrooms environments.  Learning becomes a fun filled adventure. We hope to continue to serve children, families, schools, and our local communities.  If you would like to support our mission, please click here.
